The Role

This position is a collaborative role providing support for data quality, analysis, and management information across underwriting and to the wider business. The UW Performance & MI Analyst will ensure timely, accurate, and complete reporting of data, co-ordinate with the underwriting function to enhance data, complete required data updates and provide support to the Head of MI, business partners within underwriting and UW Data Quality, Control, Performance & Governance Analyst.

The UW performance analysis will be to provide Underwriting staff with customised tools to analyse their portfolios, report to management and Boards and assist in outwards reinsurance placements. They will also oversee underwriting input and enhancement to the Prequel underwriting system to ensure data is correct and factual. This role will also involve working with underwriting to assist with monthly and quarterly forecasting and annual planning, through the Anaplan system.
The role will also support the UW Data Quality, Control, Performance & Governance Analyst in the maintenance and development of the MI reporting suite.

Key Accountabilities

 Business As Usual management of Data Quality issues, Data Quality solutions and Data Management processes
 Assist in the development, management and delivery of models and dashboard suite to the wider business functions.
 Gather, interpret, identify gaps with existing analytics and translate into requirements for business solutions.
 Identification and documentation of Data Quality issues which are communicated to the wider team.
 Design, ownership and management of the Data Quality Issues Log.
 Development of Data Quality dashboards and reports for various stakeholders.
 Oversight and maintenance of remediation activities associated with Data Quality issues.
 Work with internal models for development of MI to key stakeholders within underwriting
 Support the delivery of services to assist in the mitigation of Data Quality Risk
 Improve the data at source for the submission process.
 Accountable for monitoring that any errors are corrected, or questions are answered by the appropriate internal groups.
 Partner with Technical Operations and IT to ensure accuracy of data collection and identify areas of improvement in data management.
 Understand and take ownership of our business processes, and recommend improvements in data management, error identification, quality control, or process automation.
 Proactively identify better ways of working and opportunities for automation
 Ensure changes resulting from any data quality issues are appropriately documented, governed and controlled.
 Ensure best practice and process documents are created to support training across the team.
 Management of our third-party supplier, facilitating monthly, quarterly and annual reviews along with management of the relationship.
 Monitoring SLA performance for compliance with organizational needs and requirements.
 Facilitating all reporting and communication between the Underwriting function and its stakeholders across the business.


Skills & Experience

 Knowledge of insurance processes and KPIs e.g. Pricing, Reserving and Underwriting practices.
 A strong passion for Data Quality /Integrity and setting up processes to reflect this.
 SQL experience desirable.
 Power BI or other data visualisation experience.
 Anaplan knowledge desirable.
 Demonstrated ability to master new concepts quickly and take initiative with own personal development.
 Ability to develop relationships with key stakeholders both internal and externally across the company.
 Must be able to self-lead and work effectively both independently and with teams.
 Demonstrated ability to deliver and manage accurate thoughtful detail-oriented work within tight deadlines.
