An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and dynamic Group Head of Operations to join a leading international (re)insurance group. This senior leadership position will play a pivotal role in driving operational excellence, resilience, and governance across the Group and its affiliated entities.
Working in close partnership with the Group COO, you will provide strategic and hands-on leadership across a diverse range of operational functions, ensuring consistency, compliance, and high performance. You will deputise for the COO as required, representing them at senior forums, governance committees, and with external stakeholders.
Support the Group COO in leading and overseeing group-wide operational functions, ensuring alignment with strategic and regulatory objectives.
Lead and manage key operational teams, including Facilities & Operations, Technical Operations, and Operational Resilience & Business Continuity.
Deputise for the Group COO when required, assuming full responsibility for operational matters and representing the Group at senior internal and external meetings.
Drive operational efficiency, resilience, and consistency across all Group entities and jurisdictions.
Oversee the delivery of high-quality operational reporting, governance packs, and management information for senior committees and the Board.
Manage the monitoring, reporting, and attestation of KPIs and SLAs under intra-group and external service agreements.
Ensure the effectiveness of governance, controls, and operational risk frameworks across all business units.
Provide leadership on operational resilience, business continuity, and insurance programme management.
Partner with the Head of Transformation to align change initiatives, ensuring robust project governance and timely reporting.
Support the oversight of outsourcing arrangements, ensuring operational alignment, resilience, and effective service delivery.
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including group companies, regulators, and auditors.
Promote an inclusive and collaborative working culture across operational teams and geographies.
Minimum of 10 years’ experience in financial services operations, ideally within insurance, reinsurance, or MGA/coverholder environments.
Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams across multiple jurisdictions.
Strong understanding of operational resilience, governance frameworks, and regulatory obligations.
Experienced in managing facilities, technical operations, business continuity, and insurance programmes.
Skilled in project oversight, service delivery management, and KPI/SLA governance.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to represent the COO and Group at senior levels.
