The role
We are a dynamic and forward-thinking insurance MGU, focused on delivering exceptional risk solutions in an increasingly complex world. We are seeking a highly capable and strategically minded Head of Business Analysis to lead the business analysis function and support the delivery of change across The Fidelis Partnership.
Reporting to the Group Head of Change, this role plays a pivotal part in shaping and driving the change agenda across multiple international jurisdictions, including Bermuda, Ireland, and Abu Dhabi. The Head of Business Analysis will work closely with the IT Business Partnership team, the wider COO office, and key stakeholders across the business to ensure change initiatives are underpinned by robust analysis, clear business requirements, and measurable outcomes.
This is a key leadership role that requires a deep understanding of insurance and underwriting operations, excellent analytical and communication skills, and the ability to influence and drive change in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
Key accountabilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Leading a team of business analysts to deliver high-quality analysis across strategic and operational change programmes.
Establishing and embedding best practices, frameworks, and standards for business analysis across the organisation.
Ensuring business requirements are accurately captured, validated, and translated into actionable solutions.
Supporting the Group Head of Change in maintaining strong governance, controls, and monitoring practices across the change portfolio.
Driving continuous improvement in analysis capability and ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic objectives.
Business Analysis Practice & Performance
Set Business Analysis best practices and methodologies and drive continuous improvement
Develop capabilities for Process Improvement, introducing methodologies such as Kaizen, lean six sigma etc. to drive efficiency and improve solution delivery
Define and track KPIs to measure the effectiveness of business analysis across the change portfolio, including delivery quality, benefits realisation, and issue resolution. Use insights to drive continuous improvement and support strategic decision-making.
Leverage deep understanding of insurance and underwriting operations to ensure business analysis aligns with market practices, and operational realities.
Champion data-driven decision-making by ensuring business analysis incorporates relevant data insights, trends, and performance metrics.
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication:
Collaborate with project sponsors/stakeholders at all levels including C-Suite to ensure the business outcomes for change are clearly defined and understood
Partner with underwriting, claims, finance, and other business teams to ensure solutions meet business needs and deliver business outcomes aligned with TFP’s strategy
Strong collaboration with IT, specifically IT Development and business partnering teams
Support the Group Head of Change leading and embedding a Change Management mindset/practice across the business
Collaborate with data teams to ensure business requirements support effective data capture, reporting, and analytics capabilities.
Team Management / Resource Allocation
Own the allocation and prioritisation of business analyst resources across the change portfolio, ensuring optimal support for strategic initiatives and operational projects and the small change portfolio
Resourcing of change projects across the company and potentially helping to procure short-term resources as and when additional capacity is required to deliver change activities.
Work closely with project and programme managers to assess resource needs, timelines, and skill requirements.
Maintain a forward-looking view of demand and capacity, proactively managing resource planning to avoid bottlenecks and ensure delivery continuity.
Develop and maintain a skills matrix and career development framework to support team growth and capability enhancement.
Act as a point of escalation for resource conflicts, ensuring resolution aligns with business priorities and stakeholder expectations.
People & Culture:
Champion an inclusive, high-performance culture in operational teams, supporting the professional development of middle office staff.
Skills & experience
Significant experience of supporting and delivering complex change management, including management of portfolios and programmes of change
Demonstrable experience of stakeholder management at all levels including C-Suite and presenting at management and executive committees
Significant experience of planning and management of Business Analysis activities and leading teams of Business Analysts from business cases, eliciting requirements through to delivery.
Strong influencing and decision-making skills, showing clear leadership when it comes to driving out the definition of a problem and its solution.
Strong understanding of insurance and underwriting operations, with proven experience in a Lloyd’s market or international insurance environment.
Strong understanding of strategic planning, transformation delivery and governance processes.
Excellent analytical, planning, and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication (written and verbally) and influencing skills, with the ability to convey complex topics clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Willingness to travel occasionally to TFP international offices as required.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
Professional qualifications in insurance (e.g. ACII), Finance (e.g. CIMA)
Professional qualifications in Business Analysis (e.g. BCS, Agile) and Process Improvement (e.g. Lean Six Sigma or Kaizen).
Degree or relevant qualification in Business, Finance or related field
Experience with operational regulatory frameworks in the UK, EU (Central Bank of Ireland), and Bermuda Monetary Authority (BMA).
