The role
The Finance Transformation Lead will design, implement, and embed finance processes, systems, and controls. The role will work across both the MGU and syndicate/Managing Agency areas and provide strategic and hands-on leadership in establishing robust and scalable finance processes.
This role will drive end-to-end transformation of finance operations — including reporting, ledger setup, financial controls, planning & forecasting processes, and integration with underwriting, actuarial and operations teams. The role reports to the Syndicate CFO.
Key accountabilities
Finance operating model design and set-up for syndicate business:
Support system selection and implementation for general ledger, reporting tools, data architecture, and automation solutions.
Oversee development of reporting processes for regulatory returns and syndicate reporting.
Work with IT, underwriting and actuarial teams to ensure data flows integrate smoothly into the finance function.
Drive improvements in data quality, transparency, and accessibility for reporting and decision making.
Finance process transformation:
Develop and implement finance processes and workflows in line with business and regulatory requirements.
Work closely with underwriting, operations, actuarial, risk, and compliance to align financial processes with business needs.
Collaborate with external advisors, auditors, and vendors as required.
Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders on finance improvement initiatives.
Change & Transformation Leadership
Own the finance transformation roadmap and milestone delivery.
Lead change management activities to embed new processes across the business.
Prepare business cases and project documentation, including resource planning and progress reporting to ManCom/ExCo.
Foster a continuous improvement mindset and scalable operational model.
Play a leadershiprole in the Syndicate team culture of high performance and inclusion:

Provide mentoring/guidance/delegation/management (as appropriate) to other team members
Champion high-standards of technical excellence and knowledge sharing

Skills & experience
A professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
Experience leading finance teams/transformation within a Lloyd’s or London Market insurance business.
Strong knowledge of finance operations including financial/technical accounting, reporting cycles, and controls.
Experience designing or implementing finance processes in a start-up, syndicate launch, or transformation environment.
Excellent project management, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills.
Ability to operate strategically and execute hands-on delivery.
