About us

The Fidelis Partnership is a leading privately-owned, Bermuda-based Managing General Underwriter, which, through its subsidiaries, is a global underwriter of property, bespoke and specialty insurance and reinsurance products. The Fidelis Partnership is one of the largest Managing General Underwriters globally and its operations also include outwards reinsurance, claims handling, exposure management and portfolio analytics. The Fidelis Partnership also sponsors and incubates specialist MGAs through its Pine Walk platform. The Fidelis Partnership is separately owned and managed from the ownership and management of Fidelis Insurance Group.

Across product lines and geographies, we focus on three diversified pillars: reinsurance, specialty and bespoke solutions. We are truly diversified. Our long-standing partnerships with capital providers and quota share partners make us nimble. Our breadth of expertise and capabilities deliver outstanding market returns.

The role

Fidelis is searching for a talented, experienced Head of Compliance to join its leadership team.  The Head of Compliance will have the opportunity to work closely with the senior leadership team to define, drive and execute the company’s global compliance oversight program.

The Compliance Team consists of dedicated resources for Financial Crime (Sanctions & AML), Compliance Monitoring, Conduct and Regulatory Matters – 10+ headcount.  This person will also have regular and direct access to the Deputy Group Chairman, General Counsel, Executive Committee and Management Committee Members, Senior Underwriters and other functional leaders.  The Head of Compliance will assume the Senior Management Function (SMF) 16 designation for the UK entity (regulated by the FCA) and will report directly to the Board on at least a quarterly basis.

The role will offer broad access to this exciting business as part of a team that covers the entirety of the rapidly growing Group. This includes required oversight of TFP’s activities for two Lloyd’s of London syndicates (working with a leading Managing Agency), Pine Walk MGAs and international expansion.  The individual will be expected to act independently and to manage the execution of a proportionate Compliance Oversight Program with little day-to-day oversight.

The Head of Compliance is a senior position and will be expected to use their skills to help influence our nimble and innovative business.  This role will provide unique insight and access into the world-class underwriting process along with all other key functions for the business.

The Head of Compliance will have to bring strong leadership experience and domain expertise.  They will have to demonstrate that they are highly organised, detail orientated and an effective stakeholder manager.  This person will need to be a strong communicator (written and verbal) with a high level of emotional intelligence. We are looking for someone with significant experience in both Specialty or General Insurance and Compliance with a preference for those that have worked in the Lloyd’s of London and/or international markets.

The Head of Compliance will need to work closely with both the Group Chief Risk Officer, General Council, Director of Underwriting Operations and Head of Claims to embed the respective Compliance Oversight activities across the Group.
